WHY THE NAME PLAGRIZR?
When I was but a young lad of merely 10-11 years old, I was already beginning my life as a nerd. I had an older brother that had recently began school at a local tech college. He also lived 8 houses down from me and my parents, so keeping in touch was a very easy task. Him and I spent a lot of time together being nerds, playing games like Unreal Tournament for instance....OMG the hours I spent on that game LUL
While he was taking his classes, I was always around, watching, taking interest in just about every aspect of what he was doing, but while he was taking his programming classes I really got hooked and started to branch into my own little 'projects'. I started to teach myself Visual Basic, through means of making stupid little games (not worth playing..trust me) or applications like bare instant messengers like AIM, or even at one point made a application I put out on a forum that when people entered their information onto an application I designed to look like the login page for the game Nitto 1320, took said login information and emailed it directly to me 🤔 - Yes, that was wrong of me, I know.
Whilst learning the various aspects of the Visual Basic program, there was a website I went to for resources like ideas and the libraries, so I didn't have to create my own, and I would form the application into what I wanted without doing 'all' of the leg work. Though my brother was impressed with my capabilities, he still thought it funny that I used others' work and used it in my own applications, and coined me as the Plagrizr.
I've tinkered with many different aspects of 'nerdism' over the years, PC Diagnostics/Repair/Building, 3D Printing, IOT, Home Automation, Networking Development/Security, Car/Home Audio, but I've always had a place in my life for video games. The last couple of years since I've found these amazing communities, the SMW community, especially, I've really enjoyed becoming a part of them, meeting everyone, making some amazing friends. I hope that you finding this site bring you closer to that community and helps you find your place in it to allow yourself to enjoy it as much as I have, even if you're a watcher and not a player.
